Each pit is a registration filed with the Railroad Commission. Look at the aerial photo and say whether a pit is visible within 60 m of the registered point. The crosshair marks the exact point; the yellow circle marks the surrounding 60 m. A pit need not cover the crosshair to count as inside the circle. You are recording what the photograph shows and nothing else: not what the pit holds, whether it is lined, or how it is run.
The photos are USGS aerial photographs, taken in 2022 where we have checked, and every registration here took effect in July 2025 or later. A pit built after the photo will not show, so a pad or none does not prove a pit is absent now. Pits of 45 to 100 barrels are mostly too small to see at this resolution. When in doubt, use unclear. The Google Earth link under each pit opens newer imagery.
Crosshair beside the pit? Choose 1 pit if any part of the pit lies inside the yellow circle. Choose 2 pit outside ring only if the whole pit is beyond it.
